What is Scouts All About?
The Scout section is part of the 6 to 25 programme, and caters for the age range 10 ½ to 14.
For Young People aged less than 10 ½, we have a Cub Pack, and for those older than 14 there are Explorer Units which are run at District Level. The local Explorer Unit is Nelson's Victory which is based in Costessey and is supported by the 16th Norwich and 27th Norwich Groups.
Our Scout Troop offers a very diverse selection of activities and opportunities. There are plenty of examples of these throughout our website section. Each year we have a main Summer Camp as well as other 1-2 night camps locally. Inbetween, we participate in a variety of District Events, such as Incident Hikes. As well as this we have an interesting and balanced evening programme all year round.
When and Where do we Meet?
We meet each week during term times on a Thursday evening, mostly at the Scout Hut on the Street in Old Costessey. The meetings start at 7:30pm and finish at 9:30pm.
How Much Does It Cost?
Subscriptions or 'Subs' are payable at the beginning of each term and are currently set at £25 per term. This goes towards insurance, equipment, running of the group & most of our activity costs. Subs can be paid either by cheque, made payable to '16th Norwich Sea Scouts' or cash in an envelope clearly marked.
