History

This page is currently under construction

The 16th Norwich as we currently know it was first registered at the Costessey site on 16th July 1952,  however we believe that the group was going for a number of years before this!

The roots of the 16th Norwich go deeper than this, so far I have managed to fine out the following information: -

On 25th May 1925 the group was registered with the Scout Association as 16th Norwich (St Peter Wesleyan Church) Troop under registration number 13805

On 22 November 1935 the group moved and renamed to 16th Norwich (St Michel at Thorne) under registration number 17575

On 27 June 1938 the group moved again and was renamed to 16th Norwich (St Luke's) under registration number 19530

Then on 16th July 1952 the group was registered as 16th Norwich (Costessey) the Cubmaster was Mrs Angela Lince, Scoutmaster William Maxwell Morgan & Assistant Scout Master Michael Douglas
